Students may have 2 appointments per day and 4 appointments per week. Appointments are 45 minutes long and start on the hour.
Walk-ins are Welcome! Students may come to either of our locations and see if there’s availability for a Walk-In appointment****Please know that walk-in sessions are contingent on consultant availability and may be less than the full 45 minutes depending on when they begin.
Please be advised that your account will be disabled after three missed appointments. Appointments are marked as missed at 10 minutes past the start of your scheduled appointment. To avoid having an appointment marked as missed, you should cancel an appointment you are no longer able to attend. If it is more than one hour before your appointment time, you can cancel your appointment using WC Online. If you have less than one hour before your scheduled appointment, you will need to call us at 317-274-2049.
UWC services are for IUPUI students, faculty, and staff only. Institutional agreements prohibit us from working with students on assignments for classes at other universities.

Welcome to to The University Writing Center (UWC)! We are a community of writers supporting writers. Our mission is to make spaces for practicing and learning about writing. Our work is conducted through peer-to-peer mentoring by undergraduate and graduate writing consultants. The work of consulting requires respecting and valuing the unique cultural and personal histories, knowledge, and language practices each writer brings into their writing. We see ourselves as advocates of writers and writing. We strive to be a welcoming, inclusive space for all IUPUI community members to share their writing in an interactive and collaborative learning environment.
